Konkana Sen Sharma is back with another gripping story. For the unversed, Accused premiered on Netflix on February 27, 2026 and is generating a lot of buzz due to its provocative narrative. The film revolves around a gynecologist, ‘Dr. Geetika’, accused of misconduct. Read on to find out how the movie ends.
The plot of Accused
The film premieres in London with ‘Dr. Geetika’ (played by Konkona Sen Sharma), a respected and successful gynecologist. She is known for her discipline, efficiency and leadership. ‘Geetika’ is all set to become the dean of the hospital. In her personal life, she lives with her fiancé, ‘Dr. Meera’ (played by Pratibha Ranta) and the two plan to adopt a child. Everything seems normal and stable, until ‘Geetika’ is called to the HR office.
‘Dr. Geetika’s entire life changes when HR receives an anonymous email accusing ‘Geetika’ of sexual misconduct during a medical examination. This triggers an immediate investigation and asks ‘Geetika’ to take paid leave. On the other hand, ‘Dr. Geetika’ strongly denies such allegations; However, before you can process things, more emails start arriving. Slowly and gradually, he begins to lose the reputation he built over the years. His promotion is also on pause.
Official investigation begins
As the Netflix movie progresses, the hospital appoints ‘Dr. Bhargav’ to investigate the matter. He starts interrogating the staff, patients and employees and discovers surprising things about ‘Geetika’. Through their investigation, viewers come to know that ‘Geetika’ is strict and emotionally distant. Staff members often felt pressured while working for her. Several staff members had even resigned during his leadership. However, what surprises everyone is that ‘Geetika’ was romantically involved with a doctor named ‘Natasha’.
Later, in addition to multiple anonymous emails, a former colleague, ‘Dr. Carol’ comes face to face and accuses ‘Geetika’. She reveals that ‘Geetika’ tried to make a pass at her and eventually fired her. However, ‘Geetika’ denied all the allegations and explained that ‘Dr. Carol’ was fired for medical negligence. ‘Geetika’ admitted that she had invited ‘Carol’ to a hotel, but only for a correction in the suspension letter.
Beyond the professional accusations, ‘Geetika’s’ personal life also begins to fall apart. ‘Meera’ feels confused and hurt. Later, when he cannot trust ‘Geetika’, he hires a private detective, who discovers that ‘Geetika’ has been secretly meeting his ex, ‘Sophie’. When ‘Meera’ confronts ‘Geetika’, she reveals that she met ‘Sophie’ to ask her cousin, ‘David’, for help in finding out about the emails. Finally, it is revealed that someone was trying to frame ‘Geetika’.
Accused Ending Explained: Who Framed ‘Geetika’?
Towards the end of the film, it is revealed that one of ‘Geetika’s’ colleagues, ‘Dr. Logan’ hired ‘David’ to send those emails and frame ‘Geetika’. Later, when ‘Bhargav’ asks ‘Dr. Coral’ to record her statement, she also backs down and withdraws her complaint. Finally, ‘Geetika’ is acquitted of all accusations and the hospital offers her the position of dean.
However, ‘Geetika’ rejects the position but accepts her mistakes. She reveals that although she did not commit any sexual misconduct, she misused her power. She apologized to everyone. Later, he also met ‘Meera’ and apologized to her for being arrogant and emotionally distant. ‘Meera’ forgives her and they start again from the beginning.
