Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta admits his team have “a great chance” of winning the Premier League for the first time since 2004 after their strong start to the season.
The Gunners head into the weekend with a four-point lead over Bournemouth and with champions Liverpool on a poor run of form that has seen them lose six of their last seven games.
Arsenal will face Burnley on Saturday afternoon.
Arteta said: “It is a great opportunity ahead of us but we have to continue with a level of consistency and we know how difficult that is.
“Tomorrow will be an extremely difficult match for us and we will have to reach those levels of performance to win the game.
“[Keep the foot on the gas] and maintain the level of urgency. [Keep] The concentration, focus and ambition that we are showing in each game. Each game brings different challenges. “Sometimes we have to be very patient, other times we have to have a different approach.”
The Clarets have won their last two Premier League games to move five points clear of the relegation zone and Arteta expects a difficult game.
He said: “It’s going to be really difficult. They are well trained. What he [Burnley manager Scott Parker] What he has done with the club is formidable.
“When you look at all their games, let’s say the last five games they’ve played, they’re a very difficult team to beat.”
