Brit, 26, found dead with gunshot wounds on Caribbean island paradise as police launch murder investigation

A BRITISH man has been found dead with multiple gunshot wounds on a Caribbean island paradise.

Kenrelle O’Flaherty, 26, was visiting St Lucia when he was shot dead in Garrand, Babonneau, on Tuesday night.

Police responded to reports after a body was found on a road around 10:50 p.m.

Apparent gunshot wounds were discovered on O’Flaherty, according to a statement from the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF).

Emergency crews later pronounced him dead at the scene.

O’Flaherty, who lived in Anguilla, is believed to have been traveling to Saint Lucia at the time of the alleged attack.

He is originally from London.

Police have since initiated a homicide. investigation about the circumstances surrounding his death.

A police source said: “We would urge anyone with information to contact the major crime unit.

“We would like to know who he was visiting and why he was in the area. We have very little information about the victim.

“All we know is that he was British and visiting from a nearby island. We need to get to the bottom of this immediately.”

The RSLPF urges anyone with information to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 456-3754 or 456-3756, or make a anonymous report via the crime hotline (555) or the RSLPF Crime Hotline app.

A second shooting also occurred a few days earlier, according to local media.

On Sunday, a minibus driver was shot during an alleged attempted robbery in Morne Du Don at around 9pm.

The victim remains in critical condition in the hospital.

It comes as a British baby tragically died after falling from a bed on the first day of a family holiday in St Lucia, an inquest heard.

Tommy Taylor-Mclean was on the Caribbean island with his parents when the horror unfolded in April.
