Solana recently earned recognition as the highest performing network during the recent Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage.

SolanaFloor data shows that the blockchain maintained consistent performance during the outage, with the lowest proportion of assets at stake relying on AWS. This performance placed Solana at the top of the resilience ranking among major networks.

While several competitors struggled during cloud downtime, Solana’s seamless operations reinforced its growing reputation for reliability and high-speed performance.

That said, the Solana Foundation revealed that the ecosystem generated more than $3 billion in revenue over the past year, driven by a rise in decentralized applications in DeFi, NFT, and DePIN.

Looking ahead, the foundation said upcoming upgrades could double the network’s capacity before the end of the year. This growth is expected to cement Solana’s status as a leading ecosystem in the next generation of high-performance, scalable blockchains.

Solana leads a new phase of blockchain growth

This achievement comes amid the findings of a16zcrypto’s State of Cryptocurrency 2025 report, which highlights the rapid rise of Solana alongside Ethereum and Bitcoin. The report describes 2025 as “the year the world went online,” marking an unprecedented period of industry maturation.

It notes that the total crypto market has surpassed $4 trillion, with more than 3,400 blockchain transactions processed per second worldwide. This represents an improvement of more than 100 times in the last five years.

Solana, in particular, represents a significant portion of “real economic value,” generating more than half of all blockchain-based revenue alongside Hyperliquid.

The report also reveals that institutional adoption is accelerating at a record pace, with financial giants such as Visa, JPMorgan and Fidelity offering cryptocurrency-related products. Meanwhile, stablecoin transactions rival Visa and PayPal in volume.

As blockchains transition from speculative assets to critical financial infrastructure, Solana’s resilience, performance, and scalability have solidified its place at the forefront of Web3 innovation.
