Lisa Vanderpump’s nephew, Sam Vanderpump, went public with his heartbreaking health issues this week.
The 28-year-old television personality, who stars on the British reality show. Made in Chelsearevealed on Monday that he suffers from “terminal liver disease.”
Sam shared the devastating news during a conversation with his friend and co-star Ollie Locke on the latest episode of their show.

Sam Vanderpump’s terrifying diagnosis
“We got a call from the doctors and I have terminal liver disease,” Sam said.
“There’s no hope of my liver getting better, and he said, ‘I wouldn’t have this call with you if I thought you could survive the next four or five years.’ They’re sending me for a liver transplant evaluation.”
Sam went on to say that despite the grim prognosis, he remains optimistic.
“The way I see it, I’m healthy now. Hopefully, I’ll stay healthy to this day.” [when] They will call me and I will go into surgery. And then I’ll wake up and be healthier,” she told Ollie.
The news comes during what would otherwise be a very exciting time in Sam’s life.


Sam’s Expanding Family
In March, Sam became engaged to Alice Yaxley after just six months of dating.
On a recent episode of Made In Chelsea, the couple revealed that they are expecting their first child.
“Alice and I have only been dating for about six months, but we’ve been through a lot in such a short time. Since that day Alice has been with me practically 24/7,” Sam said. OK! magazine of the time.
“And during Christmas we went through an episode together in which I got very sick. I had an infection due to a genetic disease that I have, which led to sepsis and it ended quite badly. I was in the hospital and I was almost, I could have died,” he continued, adding:
“That experience brought us very, very close. I think I came out of that, looked at Alice and thought, ‘This is the girl I want to marry.’ So I thought, ‘If I say that now, why am I waiting?'” he added.
“Life is full of surprises, but this is the best one yet. I can’t put into words how happy and excited we are!” Sam wrote on Instagram last month after he and Alice announced they were expecting.
