Kim Jong-un fires missile just HOURS before Trump visits South Korea as tyrant vows to ‘prepare for nuclear war’

KIM Jong-un has fired terrifying cruise missiles in his latest wake-up call, just hours before Donald Trump’s arrival in South Korea.

Pyongyang said the warship launch was a “deterrence exercise” and comes days after the U.S. leader proposed a meeting with his North Korean counterpart.

The Kim regime said the purpose of the latest operation was also “to prepare for a nuclear war.”

They also called the test a success and said it would help expand the operational capabilities of the pariah state’s military.

The sea-to-surface cruise missiles were launched on Tuesday from naval destroyers in the West Sea, local media reported.

The hermit kingdom authorities said: “The cruise missiles, which were modified for launch from ships, were launched vertically and flew along a given trajectory over the West Sea for about 7,800 seconds, destroying the aim.”

It comes as Trump continues to travel around Asia to rub shoulders diplomatically, having most recently visited Japan.

he will visit South Korea on Wednesday and is expected to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping there on Thursday.

But the US president also proposed meeting with Kim as he travels across the continent to close deals and establish a good relationship.

Trump invited Kim to a meeting at the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) last weekend, but the despot has yet to respond.

Speaking of a possible second-round meeting with the North Korean leader, the Don said: “If you contact me, I would like to do so.”

It comes after Trump visited Kim during his first term in an unprecedented meeting in 2019.

Kim’s latest launch reportedly sent the lethal weapon flying for just over two hours.

Pyongyang claimed the test was part of “war deterrence measures” and part of its efforts to “put nuclear forces into practical use.”

They said: “We must constantly renew our combat power and, in particular, it is our mission and responsible duty to constantly improve our nuclear combat readiness.”

It comes after Kim unveiled a “holy shrine” for the hundreds of North Korean soldiers who died fighting in Vladimir Putin’s bloody war in Ukraine.

The so-called Memorial Museum of Combat Deeds will “pray for the immortality of the proud heroes” who “performed immortal feats in overseas military operations.”

Flanked by weeping Russian diplomats and relatives of the dead, Kim cupped the soldiers’ faces in his hands and declared that his “brotherhood” with Moscow would “advance without stopping.”

The chilling show of defiance is proof that Pyongyang’s evil alliance with the Kremlin is tightening even as Russian forces reel under new US sanctions.
