Following the Moon: September 7, 2025
The August 23 New Moon chart was dominated by quincunx aspects. (Click here to see the article and chart.) With quincunx aspects things tend to get weird, and during this past lunation that weirdness came in the form of speculation about President Trump’s health. These speculations lit up social media for a few days until the president was finally forced to hold a press conference to prove that he was not dead.
I was worried about the opposition of Pluto and Venus in that New Moon chart and what it might mean for the economy. I also said it probably wouldn’t involve the stock market. What it did involve were the President’s efforts to take over the Federal Reserve. Many experts believe that putting the Federal Reserve under the control of politicians would be disastrous. Yet President Trump continues to believe he knows more than these experts about what is good for the American economy.
At first glance, it might seem that the configuration of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto in one degree of their respective signs, which has dominated the last three lunar charts, is finally giving us a break. (Click on Full Moon to see the chart.) There are no planets with this configuration in the September 7 Full Moon chart. However, closer examination reveals that Neptune is very close to the IC. Saturn is also nearby, but is currently withdrawing from its conjunction with Neptune and its conjunction with the IC is quite wide.
Whenever Neptune is a major factor in a lunar chart, expect the next two weeks to be characterized by confusion and muddled thoughts. Given the amount of misinformation on social media, this doesn’t seem like a great prediction. What Neptune does, however, is raise the stakes. The blunder of the next two weeks will have ramifications for both public policy and the reputations of some important people.
This theme is reinforced by the fact that we have the Sun and Moon placed in the Ninth and Third Houses respectively. This is an indication that what happens during the next lunar period will involve ideas and information, rather than action. This may seem reassuring, but misguided and destructive actions often begin with bad ideas and unreliable information.
The placement of Venus in this chart could give us an indication of the source of these ideas and information. Venus is in Leo and is connected to the Sun by a close semisextile and to the Moon by a quincunx. It is also notable that Venus is in the Eighth House, which is frequently associated with sex. The Epstein files remain the subject of controversy, with President Trump calling them irrelevant and members of Congress, both Democrats and Republicans, demanding their release. This graphic seems to guarantee that that debate will, at least, continue and that there could be more revelations that will make those files an even juicier topic of conversation.
This brings us to Mars, which has a weak sign but is strongly placed in the Tenth House. It also forms a powerful square aspect to Jupiter (which is also in the Eighth House). President Trump has already shown us that he will be willing to use extraordinary means to promote his agenda. This aspect indicates that we will see much more of that during the next lunation period. These efforts may have more to do with ideas and information than actions, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be alarming.
