Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, Hoon Na lead actor Satish Shah, dies
Actor Satish Shah, best known for the show Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro and Main Hoon Na, among others, has passed away. The 74-year-old breathed his last on Saturday, October 25 after suffering from kidney-related problems. More details on this matter are awaited.

Actor Johny Lever took to social media to share the news and expressed his sadness over Shah’s passing. Sharing a couple of photos, he wrote, “Feeling extremely sad to share that we have lost a great artist and my dearest friend for over 40 years. Hard to believe; I had spoken to him just two days ago. Satish Bhai, you will truly be missed. Your immense contribution to films and television will never be forgotten. @sats.workplace.”


Condolences also poured in from others. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit wrote, “Sad and shocked to inform you that well-known actor and great human being Satish Shah passed away an hour ago due to kidney failure. A big loss for the industry. Om Shanti.”

This news also came as a big shock to Shah’s fans. Praising his comic timing in his shows and films, one user wrote, “The man who made sarcasm an art. Goodbye Indravadhan Sarabhai. Thanks for all the laughs, Satish Shah. 🙏🏻💔 #satishshah #sarabhaivssarabhai.”

“One of my favorite actors 💔 may his soul rest in peace,” reads another comment.

Satish Shah made his debut in 1970 with the film Bhagwan Parshuram. He went on to make several films and shows throughout a career spanning more than five decades. He is best known for his roles in the 1984 comedy Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, where the actor played 55 different characters in 55 episodes. He is also known for playing the goofy and sarcastic Indravadhan Sarabhai in the show Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, which also starred Ratna Pathak Shah, Rupali Ganguly, Sumeet Raghavan and Rajesh Kumar. Some of her other memorable roles are in Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Fanaa, Om Shanti Om, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa among others.

Satish Shah is survived by his wife, Madhu Shah.
