Barcelona will switch their usual sponsor to Ed Sheeran when they face Real Madrid in El Clásico next month, continuing their tradition of featuring music icons on their shirts through their partnership with Spotify.
Spotify, which owns the naming rights to Camp Nou, previously replaced the logo of Barça’s biggest match sponsor with the likes of Drake, Rosalía, The Rolling Stones, Karol G, Coldplay and Travis Scott.
Sheeran will now join that list when Barcelona travel to the Santiago Bernabeu on October 26.
According to the Catalan media RAC1The t-shirt will include Ed Sheeran’s name or the logo of his new album. “Play”. Barça kit specialist @memorabilia1899 has stated that both designs are being considered.

As with previous collaborations, a lifestyle collection linked to the special t-shirt may also be released, with proceeds often going to charity, although no details have been confirmed this time.
Sheeran – who, appropriately enough, once released a song titled “Barcelona” back in 2017 – released “Play” on September 12 to mixed reviews.
However, if Hansi Flick’s team can beat Madrid in Sheeran-emblazoned shirts, you can bet the Catalan faithful will be shouting it out loud (see what we did there?).
