A British tourist died after falling 6 meters from the balcony of his hotel in the Canary Islands.
Another British tourist was also seriously injured after the railing reportedly broke.

Emergency services attended the scene after receiving reports of the fatal fall.
Upon arrival, health teams could only confirm the death of one of those affected, while the other was stabilized and rushed to hospital.
It is understood that the Spanish Civil Guard has opened an investigation into the maintenance of the railing and the security of the hotel.
It is not yet known if the two Britons were related in any way.
The name of the hotel has not yet been revealed.

It comes just a day after a tourist was thrown to death in front of his horrified daughter after losing his balance and falling from an iconic monument in Rome.

A passerby priest alerted the police when he saw the man lying in a ditch, according to local newspaper La Repubblica.
Emergency services attended the scene and, together with firefighters, were forced to open a door outside the monument to reach the tourist.
But after treating the man, authorities declared him dead at the scene.

According to police, the man was sitting on the edge of the wall before losing his balance and falling from a height.
His heartbroken daughter told police that her father fell after being overcome by a sudden illness.
