Everton-Tottenham match preview
Tottenham will travel north to take on unbeaten Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday afternoon, aiming to rediscover their consistency in the Premier League.
Thomas Frank’s side have managed just one win in their last five games in all competitions, while David Moyes’ Toffees have made their new home a fortress.
After last season’s chaos, Spurs’ current sixth-place finish represents progress, however recent results have raised some questions.
A 2-1 home defeat to Aston Villa last weekend extended their patchy form, leaving them five points behind leaders Arsenal and clinging to a top-six position.
Ironically, Tottenham’s problems at home are in stark contrast to their impressive away record: they remain the only unbeaten away team in the Premier League this season, having taken 10 points from a possible 12.
A resilient midweek draw at Monaco in the Champions League showed their defensive improvement, as Guglielmo Vicario put in a standout performance to secure a clean sheet.
Meanwhile, Everton continues to thrive in front of their fans. Moyes’ men are unbeaten in their first four home league games at their new ground, picking up eight points and conceding just three goals in that time. Their only setback last weekend came at Manchester City, losing 2-0 to an Erling Haaland brace, but they remain firmly in mid-table with room to climb.
Team news for Everton-Tottenham
Tottenham’s growing injury crisis shows little sign of easing. Cristian Romero (adductor) and Destiny Udogie (knee) have joined a long list of absentees that includes James Maddison (ACL), Ben Davies (muscle), Radu Dragusin (ACL), Dejan Kulusevski (knee), Kota Takai (foot), Dominic Solanke (ankle) and Yves Bissouma (ankle), the latter recovering from a operation.
Mathys Tel has returned and could start after a knock on Wilson Odobert, while Randal Kolo Muani is looking for his first Premier League start.
Everton welcome back Jack Grealish, who was ineligible against his parent club Manchester City. However, Jarrad Branthwaite faces surgery on a hamstring injury and Nathan Patterson remains out with a foot problem. Carlos Alcaraz could retire to accommodate Grealish’s return.

Prediction
Given Tottenham’s long injury list and Everton’s formidable home form, this has all the makings of a tight contest. Spurs’ resilience away should win them something, but Moyes’ men rarely fail on Merseyside.
Prediction: Everton 1-1 Tottenham
