Low Sugar Pear Butter with Collagen

Low Sugar Pear Butter with Collagen

I love making homemade gifts for my family and friends, and this year we had pears galore! I’d never tried making pear butter before (sort of a cross between applesauce and jam) and I thought it sounded really good!

My “secret” ingredient for this one was collagen (and YES, you can leave it out, it won’t affect the recipe). Many of my family members were planning on giving it to them so they could use my collagen daily, so I thought it would be a perfect match.

I know it may seem strange to add collagen to this, but it is a great supplement to get more for our bones, joints and skin, and it is tasteless, odorless and completely dissolves in anything it is added to. I’m using the one I make: Full Body Collagen.

I also used a allulose/monk fruit sweetener that I bought at the supermarket to make this recipe with less sugar than the average fruit preserve. I’ve been working with that sugar alternative for a few months and it has a great 1:1 sugar replacement ratio and adds so much sweetness without the same hit of sugar.

Can I use my pear butter? a water bath method – but you can also skip the canning and prepare it to eat right away – just refrigerate it. I’ve been enjoying my pear spread with crackers, Greek yogurt, and straight from the jar!

Can Watch me do this right here.
