Mom shot to death by ‘obsessed boyfriend’ who kidnapped her daughter

Savannah Kulla, 29, was shot by her ex-partner Anthony Deschepper and allegedly dumped his body in a car park, before police launched a manhunt to find him.

A mother of four was shot dead by her “obsessed” ex-boyfriend, who left her for dead in a shopping center car park.

Savannah Kulla, 29, was found gruesomely dead outside a shopping center after her ex-partner Anthony Deschepper, 38, allegedly dumped her body there. The 38-year-old man kidnapped Savannah and her one-year-old daughter before the mother was found in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, on Tuesday afternoon, police said. Officers quickly issued an alert, but later found the baby safe with family members, who told officers that Deschepper left the baby with them. Police then launched a search for Savannah’s ex-partner.

Local police and the Ontario Special Investigations Unit tracked the father to a gas station in Niagara Falls around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, authorities said in a news release.

A police officer then fatally shot Deschepper after “an interaction with the man and officers.” Paramedics attended the scene but the 38-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is expected to be performed today.

Police found a firearm at the scene, but investigators found no evidence that he opened fire. A woman, whose identity and relationship to Deschepper has not been revealed, was found at the scene and arrested. This woman was allegedly driving the car the father was traveling in before being caught.

Savannah’s heartbroken mother Karen said her daughter had recently broken up with her ex-partner. karen, talking to CityNews everywheresaying: “[He was] I’m so in love with her, that’s what blows me away. Like crazy in love with her… to the point of obsession.

“She’s been telling me lately that I need to get away from him. She would go see him and tell him ‘this is over’ and that’s what she did over the weekend.”

The heartbroken mother said it has been a “disaster” since her daughter’s tragic death. Karen said: “She was an outstanding person. She loved those four children more than anything.”

She confirmed that Savannah and Deschepper had a one-year-old son together and that their three children are currently with their father, Savannah’s previous partner. Karen added: “I’m glad he’s gone and mainly because now his ex is so scared of those guys being around… when he went crazy.”

TO GoFundMe page was created by a childhood friend of Savannah’s after the tragedy. The fundraiser said: “She loved her babies with all her heart and spent every moment she could with them. Her world revolved around her children. Her face lit up every time she talked about them, she was so proud of each one of them.

“Savannah’s life was taken too soon and her children are now left without their mother’s warmth, laughter and love. Our family is determined to make sure her babies are surrounded by care, stability and the love she would have given them every day.”
