The Prince and Princess return to Southport to show their support for the community

The Prince and Princess of Wales returned to Southport on Tuesday 23 September 2025.

The couple wanted to show their continued support for the community following the devastating knife attack that took place last July.

The knife attack took place during a Taylor Swift-themed dance class and claimed the lives of three girls, Alice da Silva Aguiar, Bebe King and Elsie Dot Stancombe, sparking riots and unrest.

Today the couple visited Farnborough Road Infant and Junior School, where eight-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe had been a pupil. Here, the couple spoke to teachers about how the tragedy had impacted the school community.

Later, William and Kate had a private meeting with Elsie Dot’s parents and younger sister.

This is the couple’s second visit to Southport following last year’s attack. The couple visited the city in October to pay their respects and show solidarity with the grieving community (below).

At that time, they met with first responders, local leaders, and members of the public, offering comfort and hearing stories from those directly affected (pictured below).
