What is significant about 99? An OVR of 99 is the highest rating possible in Madden. During the season, ratings are updated weekly based on the player’s real-life performance and skill set, so attributes such as speed, catch, and tackling are taken into account.
What is Madden 99 Club?
Ratings in modern Madden fluctuate thanks to the advent of something called the Internet. These rankings used to be fixed throughout the year and now change a bit as the season progresses depending on how players play.
That made me think; Of all the versions of Madden over the past 20+ years, dating back to 1998, how many 99 OVR ratings had been awarded?
Has any player ever gotten a 100 overall rating in Madden?

EA Sports announced four ranked players in Madden 99 ahead of the season. And he added four more players during the season.
Madden 99 Club: Christian McCaffrey, Aaron Donald, Miguel Tomas, Stephon Gilmore.
Added Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson on 10/15/2020. And re-added Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins on 11/19/2020. Prior to his game-winning Hail Mary against the Bills, Hopkins had 98. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was added on 12/10/2020. Packers WR Devonte Adams was added 12/30/2020.

Madden 22 featured 5 players in Club 99 at the start of the season and then added 3 more during the season.

02/03/21 UPDATE: To commemorate his retirement Tom Brady has rejoined the Madden 99 Club. As far as I can tell, he is the first player to be part of the 99 Club, be eliminated, and then reinstated, all in the same season.
