The singers performed the remix of the song at the Kia Forum on Saturday.
Lorde and Charli XCX worked on the remix live last night, with a surprise performance of their collaborative version of Charli XCX’s “Girl, So Confusing.”
At Lorde’s Ultrasound World Tour stop at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Saturday, the singer asked Charli XCX out during the encore. Lorde gave the audience a hint of what was to come when she wrote the word “Girl” and underlined it in the palm of her hand, as fan footage shows.
Appearing on a small platform in the middle of the audience, Lorde began singing the song while a video displayed on the stage’s main screen showed footage of Charli, who turned out to be on the main floor of the Kia Forum. Charli then launched into her first verse. He walked through the audience and headed to the platform, where the couple performed the Brat and it’s completely different but it’s also still Brat together, delivering a high-energy, dance-filled performance.
The duo previously performed the remix together during Charli’s co-headlining Sweat Tour with Troye Sivan in 2024, and earlier this year, they teamed up to perform it during Charli’s appearance at Coachella in April.
A year after the remix’s release, the song’s complicated narrative of female friendship, which they address in their collaborative confessional version, continues to resonate not only with the artists and their fans, but with other female artists as well. In September, Hinds, who has been covering the remix version while on tour, released a video for his version of the track.
Lorde’s tour continues across the United States with three more stops: tonight she will play in Berkeley before continuing on to Portland and Seattle. It then heads to Europe and the United Kingdom. He concludes the 2025 portion of the tour with a pair of shows in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center on December 16 and 17.
