Sabrina Carpenter was the host and musical guest on last night’s (October 18) episode of Saturday night livewhere he performed songs from his new album. Man’s best friend. dressed with SNL-themed underwear, Carpenter sang the single “Manchild” into a hairbrush; Later, he put on a gi and did some karate for the album song “Nobody’s Son.” Carpenter also starred in sketches throughout the evening as 12 year old boy podcast hostto girlboss motivational speaker who suffers a head injury, and a washing machine singing.
In his opening monologue, Carpenter addressed the controversy surrounding the Man’s best friend album cover. “What people don’t realize is that’s how they cut it,” he joked. “If you zoom out, it’s clearly an image of the [Saturday Night Live] Bowen 50th Anniversary Special [Yang] helping me up by my hair after Martin Short pushed me out of the buffet line, saying something like ‘Daddy needs his mini quiche.'” Carpenter also referred to her brand as a “horndog pop star” (“Not only am I horny, I’m also sexually charged and aroused”), did sexually charged public work, and was almost arrested by Keenan Thompson. Last night marked Carpenter’s third appearance on Saturday night live—fourth if we count his cameo in the episode presented by Quinta Brunson this year. She first stopped by Studio 8H as a musical guest immediately after their 2024 album. short and sweetand was part of SNL50: The Anniversary Specialwhere he performed a duet of the Simon & Garfunkel song “Homeward Bound” with Paul Simon. On Thursday, Carpenter will begin a series of North American stadium shows, with stops in Pittsburgh, New York, Nashville, Toronto and Los Angeles.
