But people have come into his life who have lifted him up and supported him along the way.
In a powerful tribute, Collin thanks his father’s ex-girlfriend for being a true mother to him and making him part of his family.
Collin Gosselin is grateful to have a mother figure who truly loves him
In a recent TikTok update, Collin Gosselin thanks the loving mother figure in his life.
Obviously, the young man is not referring to the famous Kate Gosselin.
She lost any right to be a loving mother to Collin long before she institutionalized him as a teenager.
Rather, he was talking about Colleen Conrad.
Although Colleen is Jon’s ex-girlfriend, she was there for Collin during his teenage years. Even after she and Jon broke up, she stood before Collin and spoke for him.
in your tiktok tribute, Collin wrote in the caption that he has “the greatest people” in his life. They have helped him overcome “a lot of things” in his young life.
“I always say every man needs a mother and I’m so grateful to have had mine,” Collin said. “Thank you Colleen.”
He added: “And thank you to everyone who came into my life and was there for me.”
Within the post itself, Collin stated that he “always believed that family did not have to be blood.”
Colleen, he noted, was always there for him. Kate, he acknowledged, honestly can’t say the same.

It’s okay, nothing this world can offer me will be worse than what I endured in my early stages of life. Colleen ‘introduced me to your family and now they are my family’
“You cheered me up the loudest when I graduated,” Collin Gosselin wrote in his tribute to Colleen, “while my mother didn’t.”
He gushed, “You introduced me to your family and now they are my family.”
Sure enough, Colleen and her blood relatives commented below the post to show their support for Collin.
“You never gave up on me, no matter how much I gave up on myself,” Collin praised.
She concluded: “Always my cheerleader. Love you Colleen.”
When Collin wrote about Colleen defending him, he wasn’t kidding.
She and Jon were together for seven years. It must have been complex for everyone when Jon was finally able to free Collin from the institution where Kate had locked him up and taken him to a home he had never known.
In 2023, Kate publicly lashed out at Collin. She tried to paint a picture of him as some kind of unstable nightmare who deserved the abuse he accuses her of.

She doesn’t have Kate’s platform or infamy. But, unlike Kate, she seems to have the ability to maintain basic human decency, as well as a healthy relationship with Collin.
Colleen feels the same way.
Even four years after Jon left, Colleen Conrad is keeping up with Collin Gosselin and his social media. She saw the tribute and responded publicly.
She commented that she is “very blessed” that he has come into her life. “I will always consider you my son,” Colleen wrote.
“I wish everyone knew how wonderful you are,” he gushed. “It makes me angry and very hurt to see people write negative comments when they don’t know you or what you’ve been through.”
Colleen stated, “I’m glad you’re finally writing your story.”
His daughter, Jordan Conrad, also wrote that Collin’s tribute made her “tear.” She expressed her love for him and shared her mother’s sentiment that his presence in their lives is “a blessing.”
That’s beautiful. And Jordan wasn’t the only one who cried at all of this.
