Superstar Nagarjuna and filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) today unveiled the trailer for the 4K remastered version of their film Shiva. The re-release marks 36 years since the original Shiva revolutionized Telugu cinema.
Speaking at the event, RGV expressed his gratitude and said, “We are happy to be together on the same stage after 36 years, and we never imagined that we would be here again for the re-release of Shiva 4K. I am very grateful for this opportunity once again and for the creative freedom that I received from Nagarjuna. I spent two months in sound designing 36 years ago, and now, after all these years, I have been given the same creative freedom again. Nagarjuna encouraged us not to do so. commitment and using the best technology available to achieve the best results. He has always believed in technology and trusted that I would do something different from others, and that is why he gave me this opportunity. The original sound was remade and converted to a Dolby Atmos mix using advanced AI engineering. Damodar, who did the sound effects for Shiva, has his grandson working on this new version, and the results are even better than before.
He continued, “My parents gave birth to me biologically, but my real birth as a filmmaker was given by Nagarjuna,” RGV said, sharing a candid moment while hugging the actor.
Nagarjuna Akkineni, who played the iconic lead role of Shiva, expressed his deep emotion during the event and shared, “Thirty-six years ago, Ram Gopal Varma directed Shiva and made me a big star. Today I watched the remastered version of Shiva 4K and it has turned out extremely well. RGV has been working very hard for the last six months to make this re-release a reality.
