Hell of terror in a nursing home leaves at least 11 dead and dozens injured in a ‘disaster of enormous proportions’ in Bosnia

At least 11 people were killed and more than 30 injured after a fire ripped through a retirement home in Tuzla, Bosnia.

Authorities say the fire started Tuesday night on the seventh floor of the building.

It is still unclear what caused the fire to start.

Tuzla Mayor Zijad Lugavic said rescuers were among the injured.

He added that authorities would hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday to assess the situation.

Bosnian media report that the upper floors of the building were occupied by elderly people who could not move on their own or were sick.

Third-floor resident Ruza Kagic said she had gone to bed when she heard bangs and saw flames falling from the upper floors.
