10 Size Inclusive Brands I'm Loving Right Now

In 2019, I wrote a list of my favorite plus size and size inclusive brands to shop. Six years later, I’m sorry to say, several of those companies have closed or reduced their plus-size options. The fashion world (well, the world) has weathered many changes since then, including a general cooling of concepts like body positivity and size inclusivity. But some brands have endured and, I must say, have taken revenge. better in recent years. Inclusive fashion is still a small world, but it is thriving. Here are 10 of my favorite brands that are doing it right now…

Universal standard
US size 00-40
I have always admired Universal Standard, a brand that sets the standard for inclusivity and quality. But in the beginning, the collections were a little austere for my personal taste. However, in the years since then, WOW, it has flourished. Universal Standard now produces a wider range of styles (with STUNNING colours), whilst maintaining their excellent quality. It’s grown up but not heavy, which, as any plus size shopper knows, is hard to do if you’re over a size 14. I’m absolutely obsessed with this. mustard double breasted coatand I like the combination of bell sleeves and boat neck this striped top.

thigh society
US size 2-34
I had no idea how comfortable I could be in a dress until I bought my first pair of thigh society shorts to wear underneath. They look fit anywhere, but don’t be fooled: these anti-chafing shorts are all about comfort and no tightness. They’re durable and surprisingly breathable, and I actually forget I’m wearing them. I wore them on my wedding day and danced for six hours in total comfort under 10 layers of tulle.

end of the earth
US Size 00-26
Yes, that’s right, Land’s End. Remember that catalog that was always on the mail table when you were a kid? I forgot Land’s End existed around 1998, but when I rediscovered it a few years ago, while desperately searching for a winter parka in my size, I was surprised to find that Land’s End became GOOD. It is one of the few brands that makes solid, weather-resistant products. street clothes in large sizes, but don’t overlook their underwear. These wide corduroy? This green sweater t-shirt? Well, End of the World! I’ll be back on the mailing list!

Ace and template
Size XXS-4X
Every time I see someone wearing a fantastic print and ask them where they’re from, the answer is always Ace & Jig. No one makes prints like them: cheerful, artistic and elegant, and made with Fair Trade certified fabrics. just looking this dress Makes me want to dance at a backyard party. I’ve been on the fence about buying a jumpsuit for months: Should I really spend $240 on a jumpsuit? – and finally looked it up during a sale. That was three years ago and they are still one of the most worn and treasured items in my wardrobe. The price is not low, but I think the cost per use value is excellent.

Wray
XXS-6XL
Wray is another great brand dispelling the myth that plus size clothing needs to be soft and boxy OR asymmetrical and covered with ties in the back (why always in the back?). Their collections are full of cool pieces with a vintage feel: fun, but not sequined, if you know what I mean. I love this berry colored dressand these plaid pants They have completely changed my lifelong aversion to checks. Another thing I appreciate about Wray is that she resells her secondhand items and allows buyers to list their previous purchases. I have never sold on their site again, but I always keep an eye out for retired designs that I didn’t have the opportunity to purchase the first time.

old navy
It may be an obvious choice, but you have to give credit where credit is due. Old Navy checks boxes that virtually no other brand does: It produces all women’s clothing in the company’s full size range and photographs pieces in a variety of models, allowing shoppers to select a model size when browsing online. I find that particular feature so useful that it’s one of the reasons I keep coming back to Old Navy (hint, hint, other brands!). It’s also amazing to be able to click a button and suddenly see a page full of bodies that look more like mine. I am absolutely devoted to Old Navy. buttons and high waist flared jeans. And I spent the whole summer in this swimming romperIt was so cute that I’m probably going to buy another one for next year right now.

Peridot robes
Size 14-40
Do you know how difficult it is to find a balance? slightly plus size robe? I feel strangely discouraged by this. It is true that a dressing gown is not as important as, for example, underwear or a winter jacket. But a nice, comfortable robe is the kind of luxury you take for granted until you look around and realize it’s not available to you. I was THRILLED to discover Peridot Robes, a company dedicated to filling this gap (and making more cute loungewear for a start!). And how delicious they are the fabrics?! I’m currently fantasizing about making a swan in this juicy tie dye number.

Raquel Antonoff
Size 0-26
Rachel Antonoff’s pieces are simply the cutest, but never so cute that I feel childish wearing them. (This rainbow cookie sweater is at the top of my Christmas wish list, in case anyone is interested!) I also enjoy the brand. beautiful and fun lookbooksand the fact that they typically feature a variety of ages and genders modeling the clothes. I wish they would add more plus models, especially those on the larger end of the spectrum. But I’m hopeful that a brand so willing to flout industry standards in other ways can be pushed in the right direction. So let’s give it a push.

Bridal Collective
XXS-6XL
Girlfriend Collective will always have a special place in my heart for being one of the only activewear companies that sold plus sizes from the beginning. I give them a lot of credit for alerting other brands to the fact that many plus size people do, in fact, enjoy exercising and would LOVE to do it in something other than a giant t-shirt. I never had a real workout outfit until Girlfriend came out, let alone a variety of cuts and colors to choose from. I especially like their short sports brasand I’ve been looking at this long sleeve ballet bodysuit for months.

So who else is doing well these days? Any more inclusive (or plus!) brands I should check out?

PS: Jordan Sondler’s outfit week (with more great inclusive brands!) and what’s the ‘star piece’ in your closet?
