Believe me, the last thing I want to do is add to the current stressful atmosphere, but I have to acknowledge the axiom “As above, so below”; he spirit of the times is reflected in the Full Moon situation, and the Lunar image conveys some details about what is coming our way, and we may discover that the disturbing factors are not necessarily what we think they are. Just being alive means we can’t avoid the messiness of modern life; We could also consult the heavens for guidance (and if we are truly connecting with the Universe, inspiration).
The Full Moon perfects on October 6, 2025 at 8:47 pm PDT on Aries 14 08 and makes no major contacts, so let’s start with the atmosphere in which the Aries Full Moon makes its statement. Remarkable will be the quincunx of Mercury with respect to Neptune and Uranus, forming a Finger of God; Mercury is also square Pluto. This can take many forms, but the essence will be Sudden revelation about hard truths or reality versus deception that reveals what lies beneath the surface. (Merc in Scorpio), and we probably won’t like what we hear, especially since it could create power struggles. Uranus is trine Pluto = change, transformation or destruction can be (relatively) easy, because because of its sudden or surprising nature, or because it is relentlessly modern, displacing the old. And Venus, current ruler of the Sun, is located at the midpoint of Jupiter and the Lilith point of the Black Moon = what is standing in the way of getting to the good? Demands imposed by the current social order, as well as those matters that we have buried, ignored, denied. As long as we worry about what others will think and as long as we lie to ourselves, we will not get the reward; It’s that difficult and that simple. Remember that Jupiter is on track to trine Saturn in about a month; That means we are moving toward harvesting the results (“the facts”) around reality and the manifestation of what is currently more ethereal than material. We are (probably too) optimistic at the moment: it would be better to see reality without embellishments and be really willing to examine where the current path really leads.
Now let’s move on to the lunar event itself. The Moon is semisquare Uranus and is the apex of a loose Finger of God based on the South Node and Mars (although the latter is very wide, 4 degrees; we’re dealing with the fast-moving Moon, so I’m willing to count this). So we also receive an emotional shock or a surprise, a staff one, which arises from a mixture of the past and our own actions and choices. The Sun, giver of light and author of this whole spectacle, is sesquisquare to Uranus and quincunx to the North Node of the Moon, which reinforces the difficulty of the shock/surprise/modern-day energy and also points out the adjustments that will need to be made in the future, if we stay on the current course.
Now let’s look for contact with smaller bodies; These help define the Moon’s contacts with the main players, as well as help describe the character of the energies involved. In this case I think they fall into two broad categories: expression of power and problems. On the plus side, we have the Moon trine Vesta = no matter what the Full Moon brings, we know our priorities and values, what we honor, and we stick to it. That is reassuring and describes a strong core that will not be influenced too much by the outside. The Moon is also trine Love and Icarus in Sagittarius = uh-oh, our first trouble spot: Love, in its purest and least ‘critical’ state (not romantic, but encompassing many types of consideration and affection), will tempt us to not respect realities, such as boundaries, boundaries, our own vulnerabilities, and what is wise in the moment.
Then there are two squares that the Moon forms with the bodies in Cancer, one formed by Hades and Kronos, another by Circe and Isis (although these pairings are about 5 degrees from each other). The first two are “infernal” in nature, representing the torments of the individual and Cronus’ attempts to control the future arising from fear; the last two are energies of controlling others, to the point of reassembling them! That, as we know, can lead to a Frankenstein. This suggests difficult interactions, where everyone believes they know what everyone else deserves, and an extreme lack of boundaries within those interactions, such that we can feel subject to each other’s decisions, no matter what. And finally, there is the Moon’s quincunx to Nemesis, which only reinforces the confrontational energies at play, and that others do not necessarily have our best interests in mind.
The Sabian symbol for the Full Moon is “An Indian weaving a ceremonial blanket.” The Sabian of the Sun, which should help illuminate the meaning of the Moon, is ‘Circular Paths’. This suggests to me that too much distance from what is happening (that is, trying to treat it objectively, rather than personally) could render our actions nothing more than ceremonial; that is, not having an impact on the real world picture, but sending us in circles; in effect, distract us. And that is the last thing we must be to face what awaits us.
A Full Moon in Aries is all about reaching maximum power. who we are, what we choose and how we act, and this can be exceptionally challenging, as what we accept and support now shapes and contours our future. As long as we remember that, we will choose and act in the way that is best for us, and that is what counts. Yes, the lunar event can bring us a new hell, but it will be our A new hell, unique to our situation, but ultimately we can solve it too, by remembering our values, our priorities, and what really matters to us.
