TWO civilians have been “killed in a Russian FPV drone attack” while carrying a white flag as Ukraine opens a war crime case.
Heartbreaking images show the moment two unarmed individuals and their dog explode.
In response, Russia claimed that Ukraine was behind the killings.
Ukrainian military sources claim that this “inhuman cruelty” was part of a “false flag” operation by Russia.
A false flag operation is an act committed with the intent to disguise the actual source of responsibility and place blame elsewhere.
The Dnipro 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade said that “the enemy filmed this attack with the aim of further disseminating the images in propaganda materials and falsely accusing the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“This fact indicates a systematic practice of disinformation and an attempt to shift the blame for war crimes to our side.
“This crime is further testimony that for the occupiers the concepts of honor or law do not exist.
“Russian troops have once again shown their true colors of terror and inhuman cruelty by carrying out a ‘false flag operation’ [intended to blame Ukraine].”
The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office said it had opened a pre-trial investigation “into the commission of a war crime that resulted in the death of civilians at the hands of Russian-backed occupation forces.”
The pair can clearly be seen holding a white flag indicating that they are unarmed non-combatants.
“The victims were walking along the road with a white flag, indicating their non-combatant status,” Ukrainian state prosecutors said.
“As a result of the deliberate attack, they and their dog were killed on the spot.
“There were no military facilities or positions near the impact site.
“This cynical crime is further evidence of the systematic disregard by Russian forces for international humanitarian law and the right to life of civilians.”
The horrible act took place on Monday “near the village of Kruhlyakivka in the Kupiansk district of the Kharkiv region.”
The images of the incident were captured by the camera of several drones.
Russian war propagandists were the first to highlight the incident and quickly sought to blame Ukrainian forces for what happened.
“A Ukrainian drone operator first killed a civilian along with his dog, and then another drone killed the second, destroying people with direct hits,” the callsign Bruce reported.
Callsign Bruce is a Russian Telegram channel that has 122,000 followers.
“In addition, the footage clearly shows one of the civilians kneeling and making the sign of the cross towards the drone camera, but this did not help.
“The Ukrainian operator clearly saw who was in front of him and circled around for a considerable time to observe them.
“But he still decided to carry out these terrorist attacks.”
An independent war channel, Rybar, with 1.4 stated that the images “show drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacking two elderly people who were leaving the combat zone and heading towards the rear of the Armed Forces of Russia.”
“The drones circled around the elderly couple and their dog, clearly seeing who they were about to attack.
“After the first explosion, the second person knelt next to the body of the deceased, crossed himself and then became the target of a second attack,” Rybar added.
This is the latest in a long line of “false flag” attacks carried out by Russia.
In April, the Russian nuclear energy corporation, Rosatom, accused Ukraine of launching a series of attacks against Russia’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in southeastern Ukraine.
However, Ukrainian intelligence was quick to dismiss these claims.
