Moon in Taurus, from November 4 to 6

Moon in Taurus, from November 4 to 6

On Tuesday morning, the Moon moves into fixed, earthy Taurus, giving us some much-needed ground in the sky. Around noon, the Taurus Moon makes its monthly square to Pluto in Aquarius. This is old news and a reminder that we must let go of power trips to preserve our sanity and sense of well-being. The rest of the day on Tuesday, the Taurus Moon is unaspected and, as such, is happy to help keep us grounded.

On the midnight side of Wednesday, we have the Full Moon in Taurus. The Taurus Moon and Scorpio Sun sail serenely above the fray, making no aspects to the other planets. Otherwise it’s a mixed bag. Venus in Libra forms a waning square to Jupiter in Cancer, while Jupiter in Cancer trines Saturn retrograde in Pisces. A disturbing element is Mars conjoined with Mercury in Sagittarius opposing Uranus in Gemini. Very nervous energy. Once again, the Taurus Moon spends most of Wednesday’s day unaspected until Wednesday night, when it will sextile Jupiter in Cancer, which is really a great, empowering vibe to end the day with.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, the Taurus Moons enjoy sextiles with Saturn in Pisces and Neptune in Pisces. After sextile Neptune in Pisces, the Moon in Taurus remains aimless until Thursday morning proper. Those long periods when the Taurus Moon is unaspected are really great for taking time for self-care. Do things like eat quality foods, get enough rest, and most importantly, pace yourself to avoid burnout.

There are three astronomical events during the Moon’s stay in Taurus. On Tuesday, Mars in Sagittarius opposes Uranus in Gemini. Wednesday is the Full Moon in Taurus and on Thursday, Mars in Sagittarius is sextile Pluto in Aquarius.

Mars in Sagittarius activates the trine between Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius, feeding both planets with a burst of fiery energy. While this can produce some interesting theories, as well as some gaslighting, without Neptune in Aries, the effects may not create as much confusion and chaos. Another factor at play this week is that Uranus retrogrades into Taurus on Friday, more on that later.

The Full Moon in Taurus is a mix of sweet and edgy. The Taurus-Scorpio luminaries offer a calm and nurturing note, while the Mars-Mercury conjunction in Sagittarius opposite Uranus in Gemini is quite the opposite. The elements are in balance at this Full Moon and that gives us the option of where we would like to focus our personal energy. The water and land sides of the equation offer opportunities to get back in touch with practicalities, while the fire and air contingent are busy fomenting rebellion in the ranks. Full moons are known for shedding light on issues we may have been ignoring to our detriment, and the pragmatic Taurus-Scorpio axis suggests we may want to make an effort to reconnect with the real world.
