THIS is the moment Ukrainian special forces launched a daring air assault from a helicopter in a desperate bid to stop Russia’s advance through the fortress town of Pokrovsk.
kyiv’s elite GUR military intelligence agency shared a video of its soldiers jumping from a Black Hawk helicopter as drones bombed Russian positions in the Donbas city.
The goal of the counteroffensive is to reopen supply lines to the besieged Ukrainian city.
Footage captured the mission as a GUR infiltration team of at least 10 soldiers swooped into a field from an American-made Black Hawk.
They then assault Russian positions in a brave assault as the helicopter turns and roars away.
When the battle broke out on the ground, Ukraine They also launched airstrikes.

They dropped bombs and deployed suicide drones against unsuspecting Russians, targeting both soldiers and their hiding places.
Russia’s Defense Ministry had attempted to claim that its forces had “repelled” the special forces and “eliminated” the 10 soldiers.
But Ukrainian defense sources quickly said the Kremlin was again spouting propaganda, according to RBC-Ukraine.
They added that the operation is still continuing.
The details emerged when President Zelensky admitted that some 300 Russian soldiers were now fighting within the city limits.
Zelensky admitted that the situation is “difficult” in Pokrovsk, saying as of Friday that up to 170,000 Russian troops were advancing on Donetsk.
On the other hand, a Ukrainian soldier claimed that Kremlin troops were “in all districts of the city.”
He said, “There’s nothing good news of that. “The situation remains tense.”
He added: “Although Russian forces have not yet fully taken control of the city, fighting continues.”
It is not clear if Ukraine is planning a retirement.
Open source maps showed that troops in the city were at risk of being surrounded.
Ukraine’s GUR said: “Fierce fighting against the Russian occupiers continues.”
They said the elite Tymur Special Forces launched the air assault to stop Russia‘s “to extend its fire advantage over logistical routes.”
Russia has been trying to capture the city for more than a year.
The crisis in Pokrovsk follows months of razing land bombings that have turned the city into a hell of bombed and burned buildings.
Sources claimed that Russia’s best drone units had been attacking Ukraine’s supply lines, using tactics honed in Russia’s Kursk province, where Ukraine was forced to withdraw in March.
Tactics include using wire-guided drones, which are tethered to their controllers by a fiber optic strand, to lay ambushes along key roads.
A pro-war blogger from kyiv wrote: “Everything we are seeing today in Pokrovsk… happened mainly because of the unmanned forces of the Russians, who are blocking our logistics.
“The same teams that destroyed our logistics in the direction of Kursk last year winter and spring They are still operating.”
the open source Map of the Deep State of the first lineshowed that Russian troops made almost daily advances since October 26, when they attacked from the southern side of the city.
Zelensky insisted Monday that Russia “has not succeeded in recent days.”
But he added: “26 to 30 percent of all hostilities on the front take place in Pokrovsk.
“And 50 percent of all guided aerial bomb attacks target Pokrovsk.
“You can see how difficult it is for our soldiers.”
Last week, Ukraine’s top general, Oleksandr Syrskyi, insisted that his forces were not surrounded in Pokrovsk or nearby Myrnohrad.
And he claimed that the counterattack was underway to push back Russian forces.

But it has been forced to look for alternatives as Russian forces advanced last year.
Elsewhere, Russian forces have made gains in Kupiansk, on the northeastern front, and in Kostiantynivka, east of Pokrovsk.
THE JEWEL OF PUTIN’S PRIZELu0022
On Ukraine’s bloody frontline, the besieged city of Pokrovsk, dubbed Putin’s “prize jewel,” is being fiercely defended.
The key city of Pokrovsk is strategically critical to Putin’s territorial ambitions.
It is a vital railway and transport center, which if captured could give Russia a huge advantage in the supply line, intelligence officer Philip Ingram told The Sun.
Dubbed the “gateway to Donetsk” by Russian media, controlling the key town of Pokrovsk, a crossroads, would make it much easier for Putin to seize the rest of the area.
Detailing the grueling battle, the military expert described it as a “cauldron” city, completely surrounded by Russian-occupied lands.
Ingram says: “Russia is trying to surround him [Pokrovsk] and close the sides of the cauldron to isolate the Ukrainian troops trapped there.
“Ukraine has bravely defended it for more than a year.
“This will continue to be Russia’s main effort in its battle to try to pressure the Ukrainians.
“Vladimir Putin himself has said that this is something of vital importance to him.”
Comparing it to another tedious battle fought between Russia and Ukraine, he adds: “This is another Bakhmut for the Russians.”
The fighting for Bakhmut ended after months of tense fighting, bombing and drone strikes in 2023, with some analysts describing it as the bloodiest battle of the entire war.
