The sequel to the crime thriller franchise Raat Akeli Hai was announced today. The second installment, titled Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders, will see Honey Trehan return to the director’s chair, with Smita Singh as the writer once again. The film will also see the return of Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the cunning and no-nonsense Inspector Jatil Yadav. The cast includes Chitrangada Singh, Rajat Kapoor, Deepti Naval, Ila Arun, Revathy, Akhilendra Mishra, Priyanka Setia, Sanjay Kapoor and Radhika Apte.
Set a few years after the events of the first film, which was released in 2020, Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders follows Inspector Jatil Yadav as he is drawn into another complex investigation, a chilling case of murder committed in cold blood. This leads to unraveling long-buried secrets within a powerful family. As the mystery deepens, Jatil is once again forced to confront the delicate balance between truth and consequences.

The film will have its world premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa this November. Nawazuddin Siddiqui said: “Jatil Yadav is a character very close to me, flawed and restless, but relentless in the pursuit of justice. In the sequel, Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders, he takes on a case that tests everything he believes in. Smita and Honey have created a world that feels real and raw, where every clue hides a secret. Returning as Inspector Jatil Yadav is like returning to unfinished business. I am grateful. Please confirm his assistance, MacGuffin Pictures and Netflix for giving me the opportunity to explore new layers of this character. I’m excited for audiences to see more of the man behind the uniform.”
Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders will stream on Netflix.
